The parents of man left critically injured in a fall from a Tunisian hotel balcony have re-mortgaged their home to pay to get him back to the UK.
John and Dawn Nethercot made last-minute arrangements with their bank yesterday before flying to see their son Karl, 33, in intensive care.

Karl, formerly of Leicester, was on holiday last week in the Tunisian town of Port El Kantaoui when he suffered head and chest injuries after plunging from the second-floor balcony.
His insurers refused to pay his hospital bills or repatriation costs because they said Mr Nethercot's actions "put him in breach of the terms and conditions and therefore invalidated his cover".
His family need ?22,000 to fly him home in an air ambulance.
Mr Nethercot had been in an induced coma but on Monday, doctors said a brain scan showed signs of activity which persuaded them he was ready to be woken.
His parents, who live in Leicester's West End, hoped to be at his bedside early today.
His sister, Mandi Dann, 38, of Newfoundpool, was also due to fly to Tunisia.
She said: "My parents had no choice but to re-mortgage their home.
"Anyone would have done the same for their child. We've no idea of what the medical bills will be yet.
"We're doing what we can, but we need as much help as we can get.
"The main thing is getting back out there to see my brother.
"When we got the call saying they were going to start waking him up we couldn't believe it.
"I was with mum and dad and I've been under pressure to hold it together for them, but when we got that call everyone broke down.
"It could take him half an hour to wake up or a couple of days. We don't know how he's going to be until he's awake."
"Although things are looking better than they were, there's still a long way to go.
"It's now down to Karl to fight to come back."
Father-of-six Mr Nethercot was on a package holiday with his partner, Emma Huszarik, and children Ethan, 20 months, and Kiera, nine months, plus members of his partner's family.
The circumstances of how he came to fall from the balcony are being investigated by police.
Staff at Abberdale care home, in Hinckley Road, Leicester, where Mandi works part-time as a care assistant, have already raised ?60 towards a fund to bring Karl home.
Her partner Stewart Smith, 36, has been putting up posters in the area advertising a football match at Fullhurst Community College on Saturday, October 20, from 10am to noon, to raise money.
The family has also organised a fund-raising evening at West End Working Men's Club in Braunstone Avenue, Braunstone, on November 22.
